Time to recognize outstanding women in your club/organization, department or area! One UNC Charlotte student and one University employee will be selected to receive the prestigious Woman of the Year award, which is designed to recognize outstanding women on campus who serve as leaders and mentors in the University community.   We are asking you to nominate and sponsor a woman in your club/organization, department or area that you feel have exemplified the qualities of the Woman of the Year.  Areas to consider when nominating a woman for this celebrated award include… ·         Improvement of the quality of life and widening of opportunities for women at UNC Charlotte ·         Expansion of knowledge about women’s lives and contributions to the arts, sciences or humanities ·         Provision of or contribution to services, programs or courses particularly aimed at women ·         Artistic or creative excellence ·         Leadership and service to their particular organization See nomination form for additional criteria
			Nominees will be recognized at a special program during the conference from 1:00-2:00pm.  While it is encouraged that you sponsor the nominee’s conference registration (fee information available online), it is not required.  Nominees may attend the awards program only at no charge.  We also encourage you to register members of your club/organization, department or area to support your nominee.  All nominees will be acknowledged and receive a certificate of recognition.  The winners of the award will receive a wonderful gift and plaque honoring their accomplishment.     Nomination forms are due by Friday, February 20th.  The awards committee will evaluate nominations and may contact you for more information on finalists.    If you have questions, please contact the Awards Committee members Nichelle Wilson, Ben Cudia, and Marcia Clay at 704-687-2231 or nwilson@uncc.edu, bacudia@uncc.edu, mclay2@uncc.edu.     We look forward to seeing you there!   The 2009 Women’s Leadership Awards Committee
