CALL FOR PROGRAMS

You are invited to submit a Program Proposal for the UNC Charlotte Women’s Leadership Conference on Saturday, March 21, 2009.  The 2009 Women’s Leadership Conference is dedicated to bringing together women from all walks of life to discuss their personal and professional triumphs, challenges in everyday life, and to identify creative success strategies in an effort to enhance the lives of conference participants.  This all-day conference will feature sessions on a variety of topics by professors, students, staff, and alumni concerning women’s leadership development and women’s issues.  The theme for this year’s conference is Becoming a W.I.S.E.R Woman. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Wise, Intelligent, Successful, Empowered, and Respected women in leadership.  Please consider submitting a proposal related to success for women in various areas including: academics, professional settings, and community/activism. The conference schedule will be organized into various tracks for participants of different interests and skill sets.

TYPES OF SESSIONS (All sessions are 50 minutes):

Workshop: Workshops feature an outlined agenda by a facilitator giving an overview of the subject matter. They may also be interactive and participatory, depending on the facilitator’s style.

Panel: Panels feature multiple “experts” on the given topic, who will share their insights regarding it. A moderator will ask questions of the panelists, and facilitate audience questions.

Roundtable Discussion: Roundtable Discussions offer participants an opportunity to be involved in the session through dialogue. A facilitator with knowledge on the given topic will be present and will facilitate a multi-faceted discussion among participants.

Poster Session: Poster Sessions are an opportunity for students/faculty to display their work or current research through visual media. The session is an open exhibit that can be visited throughout the day. Individuals involved with the research will also be available for questions during a session.
