Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated.
Relay for Life UNCC
Relay For Life UNCC is a fun-filled overnight event on April 13-14 designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature activity.† During the event, teams of people gather at the track and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times, offering everyone in the UNCC community a chance to participate in the fight against cancer.
Because Relay For Life is a community gathering rather than an athletic event, anyone and everyone can participate. Teams form from businesses, clubs, families, friends, hospitals, churches, schools, and service organizations. Team members share a common purpose ˜ to support the American Cancer Society‚s mission.
Relay For Life also raises funds. Teams solicit donations, have garage sales, hold car washes, and more. If you need more help or have any other questions about Relay For Life, contact your local ACS office or call 1-800-ACS-2345.
Relay For Life UNCC represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer here at UNCC and in the UNCC community will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated. |
