I was born in Birmingham Alabama, but raised in Southern Illinois for most
of my elementary and adult life. I received my bachelor’s degree in food and
nutrition and Master’s in Education at Southern Illinois University in
Carbondale Illinois.
My
main responsibilities and goal in this new position is to be an effective
communicator, advocate and pillar of support for parents and families of
students of UNCharlotte. In the future, I plan to organize more programs,
services and events for parents and families that will allow them to stay
involved with UNCharlotte and community. Within my office,
Niner Nation Family
has also been established. The Association provides parents additional
communication through our Niner Nation Family magazine, which comes out
twice a year along with other benefits.
I
have worked at other institutions in higher education such as James Madison
University and California State University, Los Angeles. Aside from my alma
mater, UNC Charlotte has been one of the best places I have worked. The
energy, creativity and teamwork are contagious. I look forward to building
our office, and working with all parents and families.
