Welcome to the UNC Charlotte Parent and Family Programs website. We are pleased you
and your son or daughter have chosen to become part of our community, and look forward to assisting you as a member of the Niner Nation family. As a unit within the Division of Student Affairs, our programs are intended to assist parents and families in understanding the goals and expectations of this dynamic University community, and to introduce you to the valuable services and programs available on campus.

On behalf of the Office of Parent and Family Programs, we extend a special invitation to you to join other parents and families interested in sharing and supporting their student’s educational    experience. Because we realize that parents are a very important part of the university community, we will strive to provide programs and services to parents and families of UNC Charlotte students and commit to:

Join the Parent and Family Association

The Parent and Family Association is intended to strengthen the relationship we have with our students’ families and increase communication with parents and actively involve them in the life of UNC Charlotte. Membership is open to all parents and family members of current students.

 Benefits of joining the Parent and Family Association:

·          Niner Nation Family, a print newsletter for parents and families of UNC Charlotte students, mailed directly to your home twice a year (fall and spring)

·          Parents Calendar, a publication which includes vital facts on academic and administrative departments, services, dates, and phone numbers

·          Invitations to special University receptions and events

·          Campus discounts during various University events

·          UNC Charlotte Parent merchandise to show your special status-as a proud 49er parent

·          Opportunities to volunteer and thus participate in University programs and events

·          Satisfaction from knowing that you actively support programs and services which directly benefit students!

 To join, simply contact the Office of Parent and Family Programs at parents@uncc.edu  or call 704-687-2635, to receive a registration form. Complete the form, and send it along with the $49 annual fee made payable to the UNC Charlotte Parent and Family Association.

Sign up for the Parents Listserv

The Parents listserv is a service that is FREE to every parent or family member who registers their information with the Office of Parent and Family Programs. The Parents listserv is an announcement-only email service designed to send updates on campus events, reminders for deadlines and dates, and information on University activities. To sign up, simply complete the form and mail it or fax it to the Office of Parent and Family Programs or email parents@uncc.edu. 

Family Weekend

Every year, the Office of University Development invites family members of current students to campus for a day to experience UNC Charlotte. This event is held in conjunction with Homecoming. Families gather to enjoy our beautiful campus, eat delicious food, win fabulous door prizes, meet some of our faculty and staff, listen to informative presentations and cheer the 49ers on to victory in their annual Homecoming basketball game.

The date for this event is released in the fall. Registration for Family Weekend is open to all parents and families for a nominal fee. Please stay tuned for updates and more information about this fun event!
